I've been singing and writing songs since I was a little girl. Over the years, a few of them actually saw the light of day though most did not. Life gets in the way and the shape of our dreams can shift into something else, something more compatible with our day to day lives and obligations. But like an old friend you can always turn to, no matter how much time has passed, music never leaves you. And you don't realize how much your heart has ached for it until you reach for it again and hear those first chords of a melody that's been waiting patiently for your return.

I have reached an age where I understand that every song hidden away in the desk drawer represents an unkept promise to God, to the universe, to ourselves to not squander our gifts and to share our stories with the world. Somebody out there needs to hear your song, to read your words, to watch you dance, to behold your art. The world needs this kind of love and passion right now more than ever. To that end, I am opening the proverbial desk drawer and sharing my music with others. The funds from purchases on my website will be funnelled directly back into the recording a production of the many songs I have composed. I will be pitching these songs to industry professionals via the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI), of which I am an active member and releasing them here on my webpage exclusively.

Thank you for listening and thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Marie Sheva

It's been some years since I've written and recorded my own music but recently something woke me up early one Sunday morning like a tap on the shoulder. As the sun came up, I turned on my dusty mic and began to write this song, not for myself, but for something bigger than me. Virginia, we hear you now. I hope you can hear us, too. Thank you is not enough.
